# 23 reflections

My favorite part of this learning experience was the video downloads, and audio books to download. The idea of having a book on an mp3 player is good, I just have to go out and buy one now. I can now find nearly anything I might ever want to learn about on the web. I found a few things that I already knew about, but didn't really know what they were. As a shelver, these exercises helped me personally, but probably will not help in my position.
Thanks for putting this program together, as I really did learn quite a bit of new stuff.

# 22 downloadable media

There was a big difference in the free sites and the library site. The free sites did not have very many of the same titles as the library site. On the library site, I did find a couple of titles I would like to download and listen to. Maybe later when I can get to a computer with faster service than I have a home now.

# 21 podcasts

This is a wonderful resource for nearly anything you could possible want. I looked up book reviews, and subscribed to BookLog Book Review Podcast. Now I can see the reviews whenever I want. Such a cool tool for researchers.

# 20 YouTube

I found an adorable video on teaching cats to swim. The title of it is 'cats learning to swim'.
You can fins a wide variety of videos on any subject you could name. These could be and are very useful tools for library programs. They could give a taste of the programs, encouraging more to come and participate in them.

# 19 web based apps - zoho writer

Zoho writer seems extremely similar to the ms office word program. It does many of the same things, and is a little more confusing than the word program is for me. The items I use in writing and used for this exercise, are the same as in ms office word 2007, but are a bit harder to find in zoho. I will probably not use this application, but for those who do not have access to ms office word programs, I guess it would be good to use.

# 18 social networking

I already have a MySpace account. I created it to keep up with my younger friends and relatives that use these formats to communicate with each other. I think they are a wonderful tool, used in the right context. They could also be used as a way to find compatible people to date. Kids (ages 18-30) use sites such as these for everyday messages to each other. The other sites seem well thought out as well, I just like MySpace, as that is the one I am used to using.

# 17 blog about technology

The library of the future will be so different from what we know now and from what we grew up with that it may not even be recognizable to us. From the old card catalog, on past the microfische, and now to the online catalogs listing not only those items in that location, but all items within that system is so amazing to me. And added to all the inhouse resources, there are all the available online databases that each library system subscribes to for their patrons.
Wonders never cease.

# 16 wikis

I have used wikis in many sites. They could be extremely useful in sharing programs for the libraries. Teen and children's programs that prove to be successful or not so successful would be a valuable tool to other librarians. Adding little tweaks to a program could help a lot.

#15 Library 2.0

The new world of Library 2.0 is an ever changing, patron guided world. It may be just an entertainment center for the toddlers, and young parents, with picture books and videos. It might be the entire resource for a high-schooler's paper on World War I. I could be a peaceful vacation getaway with books to take you away from the 'real world' for a hectic parent.
Library 2.0 changes with each patron entering the door.

#14 Technorati tagging

Technorati brought up 733 posts for exact phrase Learning 2.0 in all blogs, and only 245 that were tagged as Learning 2.0. Many were similar yet with different points of view. The videos i searched were of cats and the variety of videos was amazing.

#13 Tagging using Del.icio.us

Del.icio.us site is useful if you are looking for information on the web on certain subjects. This can be very useful in the library for helping patrons find what they are looking for, from many different websites.

#12 library elf

I have opened a library elf account. I do not think this is a necessary service for me, as I do not rely on email for life organization. I look at this a needless extra time spenders.

#11 Library Thing

This is a really cool tool to get books to read, like those you have already read. I was supposed to add 5 books, but ended up adding more, as they list was so interesting. See my list at http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Moon_Mysts

#10 image generators

I have used Yahoo avatars in my personal accounts at home, to make an avatar for my Y mail chat account. I found this to be very easy with the yahoo avatar generator. Use this link : http://avatars.yahoo.com/ to make one of your own!

#9 finding feeds

I used Bloglines to find feeds. Kewl - I can now read Dilbert from my computer.
Finding feeds from the sidebar listing the top 1000 was easy - I just picked a couple that sounded interesting.
Some look very confusing.

#8 rss feeds

I subscribed to 2 feeds, Dilbert and lookalikelibrarian.
I am still confused about these feeds, but will read what is posted to find out more.
rss feeds could be used to find new information from websites I find interesting.

#7 Edit a Photo - ME ??? YES!!!

I think I can, I think I can, I DID! XD

moonlight in the neighborhood EDITED PHOTO

Here is my edited photo.

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Colorpicker - a Rainbow of Pictures

I love the api, Colorpicker, as I like to make picture collages with a theme to them. With colorpicker, it will be much easier to do this. Like this rainbow of colorful pictures.

Photos to Comtemplate - Moonlight

These are a few photos of moonlight that I like to look at to regain my composure after a really bad day. These images are calming for me and bring to mind a peaceful end to the day. I hope they can have the same effect on you.

Second Visit

The video link won't work for me. I am having a difficult time with this. I cannot write about the learning habits without seeing the tutorial video. I am going to try to get someone to get that video for me. Back as soon as i can be...

Day One - A little anxious ...

Signing up is confusing. Now that I have a blog, I need something to write about. I guess I will just write about learning these 23 things. More as I get it ... Thanks for 'listening'.
